Pirate101 Test Realm Inside Look and Springtime Pets

The Pirate101 Test Realm, however small of updates they may be, is back online! Impressive! That's twice in a row, so that must mean a new world for Wizard101 coming up. Here's a quick look at what's new, a link to the update notes, and some photos and locations.

How It Works

If you're familiar with stitching in Wizard101, most of the concepts are the same, but if you aren't, here's how it goes. First, you will pull up the stitching menu and choose the item that you want your finished product to look like. Then, that item will disappear from the second menu, where you'll choose an item for the stats and name.

When you complete the transaction for 100 crowns, you'll come out with a brand new item! Now, even if you are familiar with Wizard101 stitching, you'll need to know this - weapons have to be stitched to weapons of the same kind. Two-handed swords can't be stitched with crossbows. And, any type of weapon with multiple types of damage must be stitched with another with multiple types of damage. For example, a "Shooty/Slashy" weapon cannot be stitched with a Shooty or Slashy weapon individually, it has to be both.

How Do I Do It?

You'll be able to do this at Eloise Merryweather. She's located...
  • On Skull Island outside the Kraken Skulls (Skull Island)
  • In Monquista City by the Life Fountain (Monquista)
  • In Sivella Docks opposite the vendors (Valencia)
  • In Gold Creek by Zeke's tent (Cool Ranch)
  • In Hamamitzu Garden under the covered pavilion (MooShu)

Other Notes

You can read the full updates HERE. Here are the highlights:
  • Both items will be removed from your backpack and replaced with the new item that will be created with the Appearance and colors of one piece, and the Stats and name of the other, as you specified.
  • The name of the item will be transferred from the Stats item, along with the bonuses.
  • The bonuses of the appearance item will completely disappear, and be overwritten by the bonuses of the stats item.
  • Once the transaction is complete, and you've purchased the item, it cannot be undone!
  • This process costs Crowns.
  • Unlike Wizard101, Eloise does not carry standard clothing patterns in her inventory.
  • Although Eloise is good at what she does, she will not stitch weapons of conflicting types to each other, e.g., you can't stitch a crossbow to a two-handed sword, but shooty weapons will stitch just fine to other shooty weapons.
  • There will be an in-game tool tip for using Stitching; however, it will be a “silent” tool tip until we can add voiceover at a later time.
There are also some updates to free-to-play areas:
  • Prologue: Part 1—the first Premium Area will be encountered during the Quest "A Good Ship?" after talking to Dockmaster Dan.
  • Prologue: Part 2—the second Premium Area will be encountered during the Quest "To Jonah Town" just before players dock to Jonah Town.

Can't Get in the Test Realm?

No Test? No problem! Log in to the live realm to take advantage of some limited-time pets with special colors and designs. The new pets include the Yellow and Pink Marshadillows, Pink Chocolope, Blue Chocolope, Batik Eggaloon and Purple Polkaloon, all pictures below on the website.

That's it! Thanks for reading, and see you in the Spiral!

I have membership and I am level 23, but I have friends who have not got membership and are below level 8, what does this mean for them because I didn't quite understand what it meant?

    1. Well, it basically means that they'd have to pay for those areas at those times, when they used to be free. However, if your friends unlock them before this update goes live, you won't have to buy them, you'll get them automatically.

  2. Oh good they've already unlocked them, do you know what the premium areas are? (By the way, I'm the same person who posted above)

    1. "Premium Areas" just mean that it's a location that you have to either purchase with crowns or have a subscription to go into. I think that's what you're asking.

    2. No, I know what a premium area is, what I meant was, what areas are becoming premium? (By the way, I'm the same guy as above, I'm just a member of the blog now)

    3. Thank for joining the blog!

I'm not positive here, but I'm going to take an educated guess. I'd say that the first part is actually the little dock after talking to Dockmaster Dan. Believe it or not, it's actually its own little area where you claim your first ship.

Then the next will be Jonah Town itself, so you'll have to get that area before you can dock there.
