Pirate101 Head Start and Boochbeard Bundle Pt. 1

Pirate101 is live! Log in and download the game now if you're part of the one-week head start at https://www.pirate101.com/! Even if you aren't included in this group, I've got some photos of the new Boochbeard Bundle items that I think you'll enjoy! If they alone aren't enough, I'll through some vivid descriptions in there, too.

Earlier this morning, the servers went live, and J. Todd Coleman made the announcement on his Facebook page, along with this photo.

...And let me warn you in advance, if you're not a photo person, this is not the post for you. In fact, here's a photo of the gifting window, just to get you started.

Just about everyone who's logging into the head start was a part of beta, either through invitation, winning a contest, or buying a bundle. After the beta gift was announced with its special design and card-giving ability, I was excited to log in and take a look. Here it is:

As you can see above, I got a good look at the Cat Pirate companion. The companion essentially comes in 50 tiers, but instead of offering each one, you can simply accept him whenever you wish, and he'll be your same level. The companion is a Swashbuckler and has the Repel Borders talent to start with, though I believe he'll promote.

Along with that was the Scarakeet Pet. As with all pets, it has a 50% chance of entering combat with you. The Scarakeet levels with your pirate. It can critical in battles and drop a rain of bird poop on the enemy. It has the Second Chance talent.

The gear and weapon, like in Wizard101, comes in tiers. The tiers are a bit odd, and tend to vary. For the Dread Gear, it's 10, 20, 30, 35, 40, 45.

As you can see, each bit of gear features one or two cards...

...And has slightly increased statistics.

For some unknown reason, the level 40 gear has no Sneak Attack card with the outfit.

The weapon, the Ruby Slicer, is a little bit different. It still has the tiers, and damage. It is geared toward Buccaneers, who gain strength as it is, and use that to increase their damage. It also gives an epic ability - Cheap Shot, which can be quite useful!

The tiers for this weapon are 10, 20, 30, 35, 40, and 50.

Not bad, hmm? Well, in addition to that, there's also the highlight of the bundle - the Volcano Island! I won't show you this part just yet, it'll be coming up later in another post. For now, here's a quick look to get you excited.

Maybe I'll see you in a bit for the next part of the Boochbeard Bundle. What are you immediate reactions - are you now needing this bundle?

Before I go, I'll also offer a special thanks to a certain someone - you know who you are.

Thanks for reading, and see you in the Spiral!
