Blog Feedback Survey

This past year has been really exciting for Swordroll's Blog. There's been a lot of cool content and different types of posts. I tried some modeling and texture art with my Darkmoor Castle Block set, continued on with the second annual September Guest Post series, and more. Now, I'm wondering what you think.

With the threat of destruction brought on by Grandfather Spider increasing with each reveal, I believe the end of the arc is imminent. I'll provide some evidence as to what Empyrea might look like and why I think it'll be the last world in the third arc.

Community Spotlight #2

There are a lot of cool things happening around the Spiral, and not all of them get the attention they deserve. Earlier this year, I started out with an idea for spotlighting some of the content created around the Spiral that people ought to see that they might not have.

A Panoramic Journey through Mirage

Mirage is Wizard101's latest world and one of its strong point is the variety of environments and locations within the world. Looking at the Mirage world map, you wouldn't guess there's much diversity with only five similar-looking areas marked. There's actually a lot hidden within the sands of Mirage, and I'm going to show some panorama images as I walk you through the world. I'll summarize important story pieces and examine which areas are mapped and sold in pay walls.

How Mirage Is Making Your Wizard Weaker

With the release of Mirage, players are enchanted by a compelling story, vibrant characters, and a desert world full of mystical environments. However, recent changes in stat systems and lack of gear are adding up to actually slow down the abilities of leveling wizards. For the first time ever, wizards could actually be less powerful than they started out, even after leveling up. Here's how Mirage is making your wizard weaker.

The Community Weighs In: Mirage Update

Wizard101's latest Test Realm update includes Mirage, Castle Magic, and more. As always, there have been plenty of praises and some mixed reactions. With Test Realms going live quicker and quicker, some bugs are missed, less feedback seems to be taken into account, and other issues have arisen. On the contrary, many features are released at a more polished stage than ever and the worlds seem to be getting better and better. Let's have an open and honest discussion of the update with members of the community.

Polaris: Pirate101's Next World?

It's one of the most-talked-about worlds in both Wizard101 and Pirate101. In the past, it was deemed to be confirmed that we'd be visiting Polaris in Pirate, but a change of direction makes that less certain. Mounting evidence, however, suggest that the next world for pirates could be a chilly one: Polaris.

Ten Big Mirage Reveals

Mirage is packed with more betrayals, plot twists, and big reveals than just about any other world previously - maybe more than other worlds combined. It will force you to question whether or not you're on the right side, and scarcely resolves some of those fears. I'm taking a look at the ten biggest reveals in Mirage. It might be implicit, but be warned - there are major story spoilers here!

Acropolis House Map

In 2013, I did a map of the Amber Estate. I tried it again for the Polarian Shipwreck just last November. Now I'm back to it, but this time with a map that presented a few new challenges from an old game card. The Olympian Bundle may not be new, but its house is still one of my favorites, and has plenty of complexities for a map.
