Halloween is just around the corner in the Spiral, but this year, it seems that it can't be kept under wraps at all (no pun intended). With about four items suggestive of a specifically large event this year, it has wizards continuing to guess what it'll be.

Legends, owner of Legends of the Spiral and Stormgate Pirates, recently sent me a message contained a high-quality version of the Darkmoor hub concept. I had seen this piece three places before, and couldn't imagine that it could be much higher quality than the ones I had. I was wrong. And the image, it turns out, would be very revealing in a variety of ways.

Pirate101, along with VisionTek, has recently launched a unique new promotion that offers a brand-new ship with the purchase of a graphics card in specially-marked packages from authorized retailers. So where can you get one? What are the stats? What's it going to cost?

In the past few days, Aquila has gone live in Wizard101 UK! With the weekend under their belt, many UK wizards have had an opportunity to try out the new expansion. As controversial as both the stats and the price were in the US, wizards here seemed very excited when they heard the news. With new prices and new drops being discovered, however, some opinions may have changed.

It wasn't long ago that Ryan had his wish granted by KingsIsle - he got to visit the headquarters and become a member of the staff for a day. The location news channel covered the event and included a few words from his parents. There was something interesting in the background.

My contests usually don't do so great, but I am really impressed with how many people entered the Render Search and Find - fifteen. Not a lot, but that's a step up, and not bad for self-supplied prizes on a tucked-away unofficial fansite. I'll have to try that kind of contest more often. Here are your winners!
KI Free Games as you know it no longer exists - it is now FreeKI Games (Freaky?) with a monster-themed background to match. However, there's specifically a section called Games for Girls that has Twitter in a fit about stereotypes, women in gaming, and marketing. Let's recap.

Whoever said blogging was easy never tried it for his or herself. I'll be the first to tell you, it take some magic to make it happen - that and a number of good friends behind you to catch you when you fall. Yes, when, not if. When it comes to running a site, I'm definitely not the best. I don't even pretend to be proficient at it. But I figured there might be some interest in following me down the ever-changing path that is blogging.

There's no doubt that the KingsIsle community is full of great ideas. Some, like a Mercenary-type system that ran across a variety of platforms seeking to assist wizards of the Spiral, have existed for a long time. However, I'll be taking a look at five more recent ideas that are truly original.

There was always something about Monquista that I enjoyed. And despite the general dislike for the world, it remains to be my favorite of all the current worlds. The colors, the environments, the story... it's all one of my favorite parts of the game, and I can only hope that we'll return for additional skyways, even if there aren't currently plans to do so.

As you all know, since the release of the major design change in Swordroll's Blog, I've been doing a number of small updates to bring more life to the pages here. First, I did the Entertainment page with all new fortunes and a brand-new look. I followed shortly after with the Community page and some of the sub-pages. Now it's the Tools Page's turn.
