What's the buzz all about? I'll tell you - Wizard101's new Hive Bundle from GameStop is by far the most exciting new thing in Wizard101 in quite awhile. The house is extremely impressive and comes with a brand-new feature that you're going to love.
What's New in the Hive Bundle?Of course, the house. Everybody loves the house, right?
Let's start with gear, though. I met up with Katie Soulfinder, the owner of this bundle, who showed me around and gave me a look at her level 90 gear.
The mount is an unusual one - not an oversized, two-person giant, but a conservative set of Bee Wings that work and flap like fairy wings.
The pet is a Bumblebee - quite possibly the new, most adorable pet in-game. It looks similar to Pirate101's Bumbaloon in Cool Ranch, but in a miniature form that you don't have to defeat and repeat so many times. It gives one of the crafted spell cards.
Analyzing GearThe gear's stats, as with most bundles, aren't extremely impressive, but they aren't horrible, either. This, like the Dino Bundle, is another Life-themed bundle. Of all the bundles, I've not yet seen one Death one.
All of the pieces of gear have some energy on them in additional to to armor piecing. All have universal damage, and the robe has universal resistance. They all come with Life cards. The Bumblebee has a 57 pedigree. The Stingshot is nothing to dismiss, though, with its 100 universal critical, incoming healing boost, and 5% armor piercing. Ouch.
The Amber Estate and Epic Dragonfly RideThe highlight of the bundle, of course, is the house - the Amber Estate. And let me tell you, it's an awesome house. The beauty is simply outstanding and its elegant textures combined with simplicity make it a must-have.
I added a few screenshots below from the house and the most exciting part of the bundle - the Dragonfly Ride, one which you can move you camera to about any angle to watch it. You can ride it as many times as you'd like, and believe me, you'll want to, but it gives a reward like the genie or gorilla only once a day.
The top left image is on the "porch" of sorts - a balcony overlooking the water below with some honey that will slow you down when you walk in it. The top right is me flying over the balcony. The lower left is NOT rotated - it's a flip over the water! The lower right is the interior.
Instead of trying to describe it, though, I thought I'd let you take a look for yourself with this video tour. It will show the entire house and it passages, as well as the two hidden areas (on inside and one out). Enjoy! (HD and other options available by viewing directly on YouTube; edits may still be processing at time of posting, so be patient)
So that brings me to my final question - for $39, are you planning on purchasing this bundle? Let me know by commenting! Thanks for reading and see you in the Spiral! Credits: Thanks to Katie Soulfinder for showing me her items and house! I appreciate it very much! The bundle photo originates on Ebay.
