It was time for my eighth and final questing day in Avalon. I sent out a tweet wondering if anyone was interested in helping. If I took help, I wanted it to be casual help. Everyone was either behind in questing or not currently available. Eventually, out of boredom, I began myself.

It's contest time, and there's no shortage of prizes! If you didn't one, today is my one-year Blog-A-Versary. That's right, exactly one year ago, today, I started this blog. You can read my full commentary and recommended readings at http://www.swordroll.com/2012/05/my-one-year-blog-versary.html!
Exactly one year ago, today, I started a blog. I'd say that I've come some way since the beginning, but don't take my word for it - look at my very first post. http://www.swordroll.com/2011/05/starting-blog.html

Wondering where I've been?
Don't immediately close this post due to your assumptions of its contents: busy with real life issues, etc. Honestly, I've been working to further Swordroll's Blog. You see, tomorrow is my one year anniversary of blogging, which I'm quite excited for.

First of all, if you emailed in a design question, I answered it at http://www.swordroll.com/2012/05/your-design-questions-answered.html! It isn't too late to email in questions if you're interested! However, for now, if you haven't decided, or even if you have, it's time to take a quick little quiz to see which Pirate101 class you're most suited for. Are you a bustling buccaneer, wandering the high seas with the heaviest armor available, or a musketeer, specializing in traps and long-range shots? Maybe you're a privateer, build for assistance and navigation. You might also choose to be a swashbuckler, relying on cunning and finesse for survival. And then, there are always those few that are obsessed with dead things... you're a Witchdoctor!

Writing From: Lake Shore, Deep Water, Catacombs, and Ghost Avalon; Avalon
My next step in Avalon was the Lake Shore. In this beautiful new location, a tower stood high over the lake. A Friar from below the hill that the location begins on called out to us. He was on the verge of Death, and begged to be saved by a healing fountain in one form or another that was close by. The fountain, naturally, was dry, and we needed to collect some sort of magic stones from some mobs to reactivate it.

Writing From: Abbey Road and Outer Yard; Avalon
I tried something new today - I pulled out my two person Blood Raven Mount to carry my two wizards through questing. No more senseless teleporting, or trying to navigate a difficult area with two wizard - now they could do it together. And that went for battles, too. Besides that, to ride the mount, my other wizard had to be in a group with my first. That meant that they'd save each other a spot in battles! They can also both take advantage of wisps. As if that weren't enough, you can talk to people or gather things without leaving the mount, and when you hit "X" to enter a dungeon, both people automatically do it. No one trying to run two characters away from a finished battle!

Writing From: The Wyrd and Dun Dara; Avalon
Today was quite a long day in the Wyrd and Dun Dara. It began in The Wyrd, where I started off with a mob fight, releasing a Fire Light that led me to the place I'd been eyeing since I arrived at the location - the Lost Abbey. Inside, a white Specter ghost awaited me.

Writing From: The Wild; Avalon
After two days in Avalon already, the excitement had yet to die down, as I continued on my path through what I thought to be the best world yet! Today, I spent quite a long time in Caer Lyon and The Wild. You see, right when I thought I was finished with Caer Lyon, I received a quest to return there. And another one. And another one. As it turns out, nearly everyone owns an estate in that place!

Writing From: Abbey Road and Caer Lyon; Avalon
It's my second day in Avalon, and it's going quite well. In contrast with Zafaria, Avalon is perfectly themed and brilliantly put together. I soon learned that many towers had additional staircases or levels, beyond what was needed, just to add to them. With this, KingsIsle is taking a step in the right direction. We need more areas with "secret" things and places to explore.

Writing From: Caliburn and High Road; Avalon
I've always said that my favorite part of a new world is the area - the design, landscape, structures, etc. If you put Young Morganthe in a Wizard City tower, it wouldn't be half as exciting. As such, I didn't want to reveal the look of the locations in the new world, and so I kept out of any pictures. Now I'm super excited!

There has been a bit of talk going around about blog designs. Now I won't claim to be a master designer, but I definitely have a passion for design. While Swordroll's Blog (http://www.swordroll.com/) is quite lacking in unique designs (soon to be changed), my newest blog, Pirate101, is quite interesting... take a look! http://swordroll-pirate101.blogspot.com/
